We confirm DB spare capacity, cable route to the bathroom and heater rating.

Cable, isolator, RCD and any DB work itemised, with plumber coordination noted.

STEP 3

Install and connect

Dedicated circuit, isolator and earthing installed, heater connected to the manufacturer’s instructions.

STEP 4

Test and handover

Earth continuity, insulation and RCD trip tested before the heater is switched on.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does a water heater need its own circuit?

Yes. Instant heaters draw several kilowatts, which is far above what a shared socket or lighting circuit should carry. A dedicated, correctly sized circuit is the safe approach.

What cable size is needed for a shower heater?

It depends on the heater rating and the distance from the DB. For a typical 3 to 4.5 kW instant heater we normally specify 4 mm sq cable or larger, confirmed after the survey.

Why does my ELCB trip when I use the water heater?

The element or wiring may be leaking current to earth, often from scale, water ingress or damaged insulation. We test the heater and circuit to find the source and repair or replace it.

Can you install a heater I bought online?

Yes. We install customer-supplied instant, storage and heat pump heaters, and will tell you if a model needs a feature your supply does not have.

Do you handle plumbing too?

We do the electrical side. For storage and heat pump heaters, we coordinate with your plumber so pipe and electrical work finish together.
