FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does every aircond need its own circuit?

Yes, we recommend a dedicated circuit for each unit. Compressors have high starting current, and shared circuits cause nuisance trips and overheated cable.

What size cable and breaker does a 1.5 HP aircond need?

It depends on the model and the cable length, but typical residential split units use a 16 to 20 A breaker with 2.5 to 4 mm sq cable. We check the nameplate rather than guess.

Will my DB handle a new aircond?

Only if there is spare breaker capacity and the main supply can carry the extra load. Adding several aircond units to an old single-phase house often calls for a DB upgrade or 3-phase supply.

Do you do the aircond piping and gas?

We handle the electrical works. Piping, gas and commissioning are done by your aircond installer, and we coordinate so both finish on schedule.

Can you fix an aircond that keeps tripping the breaker?

Often, yes. We test the circuit, cable and isolator for faults. If the compressor itself is the issue, we will tell you and refer you back to your aircond technician.
