Frequently asked questions

How many cameras do I need?

It depends on the layout and what you need to see — entrances, till points, blind spots, perimeter. We work that out on the survey and quote the number that actually covers the premises, not a fixed package.

How long is footage kept?

That is set by the recorder's storage. Tell us how many days you need to keep and we size the hard disk for it — commonly two weeks to a month for a small business.

Can I view the cameras on my phone?

Yes. We set up the app on your phone and desktop before we leave, and show you how to play back and export footage.

Do the cameras keep working in a power cut?

We can add a UPS for the recorder and PoE switch so recording continues through a short outage. It is a small add-on we recommend for shops and offices.

Can you connect to my existing cameras?

Sometimes — it depends on the brand and whether they are IP or older analogue. We check on the survey and tell you honestly whether to keep, mix or replace.
