Safety

Fail-safe on the escape routes

Doors on a means of escape are set up fail-safe — they release when the fire alarm triggers or power is lost, so no one is trapped. Non-escape doors can be fail-secure. We wire the release to your fire alarm and fit a battery backup on the controller.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Card, PIN or fingerprint — which should I use?
Cards and fobs are quickest for a team and easy to cancel if lost. PINs suit low-traffic doors. Fingerprint or face removes the lent-my-card problem for sensitive areas. We often mix them per door, and can add mobile access.
What happens to the doors in a fire or power cut?
Doors on escape routes are set up fail-safe — they release when the fire alarm triggers or power is lost, so no one is trapped. Non-escape doors can be fail-secure. We wire it to your fire alarm and add a battery backup.
Can it work with our CCTV?
Yes. We can tie an access event to a camera so an entry is recorded, and put both on the same cabling and power where it makes sense.
Can we add or remove staff ourselves?
Yes. For a networked system we set up an admin account and show your team how to issue cards, set access levels and pull entry logs.
Do you install for a single door only?
Yes. A standalone controller on one door is a common start, and the same system can be extended to more doors later without replacing it.
